My eyes are filled with sparkle;
They see flecks of gold dancing on the sand.
The ocean is a bed of diamonds.
I am a meticulous jeweler.
Grass is crushed velvet beneath my feet.
The sky is a silky canopy;
Magic stitchery spangles it with sequinned stars.
I know the voice of the hummingbird
And delight in its frenzied dance.
Butterflies are my soul-mates;
I have reveled at their lust for life.
I hear songs when there is no music
And see the notes when the music plays.
I have been caressed by sunlight
And bewitched by moonlight.
Spring's sweetest breezes and gentlest rains
Have been my lovers.
Roses bloom eternally in my heart.
Lavender lives in my hair.
Morning glories hold me steadfast
To the rich, warm Earth.
